About Rachel Holden
A Canadian by origin, Rachel began her optometry education at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, where she completed an Honours Science degree. She then moved to Australia to continue her studies at the Victorian College of Optometry at the University of Melbourne, graduating from the optometry program in 2002.
With over two decades of experience, Rachel has practised in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. She has extensive clinical expertise in comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fitting, and the diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, with a strong focus on patient-centred care and long-term eye health.
Rachel met her husband, Stuart, when they worked together at the same optometry practice in Adelaide. Outside the clinic, she moonlights as a stand-up comedian and comedy writer. She has appeared in televised comedy events in both Australia and Canada and has won numerous awards for her comedic talents.
